1. Diana Memorial Playground
Our first stop will be West London and Kensington Gardens, specifically the Diana Memorial Playground.
During her time as a princess of Wales, she was well known for her love of children and humanitarian work in support of children all over the world. There are also many sections of the park which have been inspired by Peter Pan, as J M Barrie was a nearby resident of this park.
2.Go Ape
In Battersea, you will not only find a dogs home, but also an outdoor adventure center called Go Ape.
In this treetop adventure that opened in London in 2015, climbers, clamberers, and darters get to clamber, clamber and dart through the urban jungle to their hearts’ content. When you’re done, picnic tables in the park are the perfect way to whet your appetite.
3.Brockwell Park
We will head south to Brixton to Brockwell Lido and Park, which has a paddling pool for the kids to cool off if the heat of the city gets to be too much. Aside from the flower beds, walled gardens, and clock tower, this park’s highlight is a miniature railway that your children are sure to love.
4.Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park
The Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park is where you will find Tumbling Bay. It features rock pools, sand pits, treehouses, and wobbly bridges which are fun for children of all ages. In fact, this is the only park on our list that can be considered an all-rounder, since adults will find the park’s activities to be very enjoyable as well.
5.Hampstead Heath
In London this area is among the most popular green spaces and parks since it is especially beautiful and offers spectacular views of the city. Additionally, there is a wonderful lido where your children will enjoy swimming before you find a spot where you can have the best picnic.
6.Thames Path
We’re now heading to Richmond and the Thames Path, an atmospheric place to spend a sunny summer day. Taking a walk or riding a bike to Hampton Court is highly recommended, as is stopping by Stein’s for a beer and sausage. There’s also a cute little playground for the kids to enjoy.
7.Holland Park
Holland Park, located near the same name Tube station, is one of London’s most exclusive neighbourhoods, but everyone can enjoy the park. There are excellent facilities for tennis, football, golf, cricket and netball, and foodies will enjoy the Michelin-starred restaurant hidden in the middle of the park.
8.Coram’s Fields
At Coram’s Fields in Bloomsbury, you’ll find the first home for abandoned children in London. Its focus is on kids, and the park has plenty of things for them to do. As an added bonus, it’s close to the British Museum, so it’s conveniently located. It’s also a safe, fenced area, so your children will be protected from traffic.
